So I'm planning my first mission to Jool and was wondering if a heat shield is needed for aerobraking ? While aerobraking on dune I didn't need a heat shield but I don't think this will work on Jool. I've been running some aerobraking test trials on kerbin and seem to have issues with the rocket flipping and rolling with a heatshield while going through the atmosphere.
